I've been in Hawaii for 2 months.......

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to say, "Oh yes, I've been in Hawaii the last 2 months" and that it was really true? So, I'll say it and wish it were true; but alas, the truth is we've just been sluggin through winter and complaining (not laughing) all the way. We got through our second Thanksgiving and Christmas missing our brother John and were looking forward to a new year with a leukemia-free nephew.

Then along comes January. I hate the month of January; seems bad things happen. My nephew came down with a weird type of pneumonia, my brother needs teeth pulled, and I've had to pump yet more money into my aging car. The good news today tho is my nephew is much better and back at home from the hospital all safe and sound. The car is repaired once again (for now) and I still am employed.

And really, I have no reason to complain as I think of the people in Haiti and their losses and struggles.

Hello, and all I can say is that we love you and we all miss your brother John. He was a wonderful person. You never get over the loss of anyone, just kind of tolerate it. Wouldn't it be nice to be in a warmer place even for a week? Think spring , though and soon it will be over for another year. Blessings...............

Getting the 'weird' pneumonia was not how I wanted to start out 2010, that's for sure. But I'm on the upswing, back to work, fighting the good fight just like everyone else.

Although it's been been very hard to not wallow in the past and dwell on anger and sorrow, I believe things will turn around for everyone this year. Soon, 2009 and 2008 will be long remembered, but not forgotten.
